MAX WEILER
Natural phenomenons.
Max Weiler was born in 1910 in Hall in Tirol. He was the old master of Austrian contemporary painting. Early in his life, Weiler developed his own vision of the world. Weiler freed himself more and more from the external object to a free gestural painting. The dialogue with nature became the central theme of his work, while the artist emphasized in his works that nature is seen as a comprehensive phenomenon. Thus, natural phenomena are passed on as abstract compositions. In his later works he uses contrasting strong bright colors.
Weiler was, amongst other representatives of Austria, at the Venice Biennale. He received the Grand Austrian State Prize and was a professor of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Numerous exhibitions around the world confirm that he is one of the most important representatives of contemporary painting. Max Weiler died on the 29th of January 2001 in Vienna.
