ART TRADE FRELLER
The deep enthusiasm that already drove Walter Freller in his teenage years to the art and antiques markets in and around Linz, the love for art, and the joy he felt when hearing a beautiful story, captured in unique objects, pushed him after years of learning and collecting experience towards his current profession.
Walter Freller found the art and antiques trade Freller in 1988 and he opened his first shop in Linz. Quickly he found his way into the circle of those who shared his passion for beautiful, high quality antiques. He got an excellent reputation, because for him art never had and doesn’t have the status of a commodity. Driven by respect for art and artists his commitment reaches far beyond commercial interest. Maybe there are just those facets of passion, which have allowed him to be so successful for the past 20 years.
Today his dedication and professional attention emphasizes on the Austrian painters of the 19th and 20th centuries. Thus in the collection of Art Trade Freller, who resided since 2000 at its present location in Kellergasse 10 in Linz, excellent works by renowned Austrian artists such as Alfons Walde, Olga Wiesinger-Florian, Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt, Oskar Kokoschka, Carl Moll, Albin Egger-Lienz, Ernst Huber, Franz Sedlacek, Klemens Brosch or Wener Berg, can be found.
The respect, which Walter Freller enjoys, when talking to customers and expert circles gives good returns, not only when he receives invitations to all leading trade shows, but also in the appointment as a consultant and supervisor of numerous private and corporate collections. Furthermore, Austrian museums, as well as national and international collections appreciate Walter Freller as a competent lender and reputable seller.
Particular interest has been traditionally met with his own exhibitions, which take place several times a year at the premises of the art trade Freller, and – according to the vitality of the art market – even contemporary art is provided on the stage. Da wie dort, in every engagement the passion of Walter Freller can be felt – and it is far from being a flash in the pan.
