TISCHLER VICTOR

Victor Tischler was born on the 24th of June 1890 in Vienna. He studied at the Vienna Academy from 1907 to 1912. Then he went on study trips to Holland, Italy, and France. He was the co-founder and president of the artist association "Neue Vereinigung" and member of the Hagenbundes. Expressionism, but also French Impressionism, especially Cézanne, which was Tischler's source of inspiration, influenced the early works of Tischler. Many of his works are in museums in Germany and abroad. Victor Tischler died on the 25th of February 1951 in Beaulieu sur-Mer.
