KIELNHOFER "KILI" MANFRED

Manfred "Kili" Kielnhofer is an Austrian painter, sculptor, designer, and photographer. Kielnhofer graduated 1989 as a master of Industrial Technology and then visited the Technical University Linz, where he graduated from in 1995. The engagement with technology, design and architecture led him to his own artistic activities. Since 2000 he has been working as a freelance artist in Linz on the Danube. In 2005 he found the gallery Artpark. The "Guardians of Time" are a development of a confrontation with mysticism and primal religions. 2006 he started making introverted monk figures and posted his characters at specific locations. The staging of the figures at big events such as the Festival of Lights in Berlin is as important as the technical perfection of the individual sculptures for the artist. 2012 he first created miniature guards. Mini Guardians, limited edition, 54x36x34cm consisting of plastic. 2013 first life size Guardians of Time in Bronze were casted in the art foundry Krismer. 2014 three large-format Guardian Polyester 220 x 220 x 220 cm were shown at the Festival of Lights at the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin.
