Krönau 1858 - 1926 Bad Gleichenberg
Eduard Kasparides was born on March 18th 1858 in Krönau at MoravskotÅ™ebova. He studied painting from 1876-1884 at the Vienna Academy at Trenkwalder and Griepenkerl. He was a founding member of the Viennese artists association Hagenbund and a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus. He went on study trips to Italy, Germany, Sweden, and Russia. Initially, he painted mainly genre scenes and history paintings of religious content. Eduard Kasparides was especially well known for his evocative sunsets, which he held in mostly dark clayey color. Eduard Kasparides died July 19, 1926 in Bad Gleichenberg.
