Adolf Helmberger was born on June 8th 1885 in St. Gilgen. He received his training from Franz Kulstrunk in Salzburg and at the Vienna Academy under Christian Griepenkerl. His works were shown at various exhibitions. From 1922 on he was a user of the Vienna Künstlerhaus. He received the Golden Staatsmedeilie in Salzburg and the Golden Laurel of the Vienna Künstlerhaus. Helmberger was called "the painter of the Salzkammergut". Adolf Helmberger died on August 12, 1967 in St. Gilgen.
