Karl Flieher was born on July 9, 1881 in Vienna. Already in his school years his teachers appreciated the graphic talent of the young Karl Flieher. He was a student in Hofopernatelier under Anton Brioschi. After completing his education he worked in opera houses in Germany and Austria. Flieher painted predominantly in Vienna, especially views of the Austrian Alps regions. From the early 20s on, he often painted motifs from the Wachau. 1919 Charles Flieher left Vienna and worked as a freelance artist. For years he traveled through Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. In 1928 he came to the place he called his home, Zell am See. Karl Flieher died on January 20, 1958 in Zell am See.
